Gracie

‘When, the only way to save your own life, is to save that of another’

2am. 29 year old Gracie, climbs the railings of Waterloo bridge to jump. But when 17 year old Ellie runs onto the bridge, screaming for help, in fear for her life, Gracie is shocked out of her dark intent.  Gracie helps Ellie, and as they disappear into the back streets, both women think they are safe.

But those after Ellie don’t give up.

‘Gracie’ is a dark fable: A noiresque tale, set over one night, which if Gracie and Ellie survive, will change their lives forever. Set against the dramatic skylines of Waterloo Bridge and Embankment, and in an old, claustrophobic cargo boat by Battersea Power Station. Gracie sets a gothic, retro mood, but the flashbacks that tell the Girl’s stories are vividly dreamlike.

At its heart, ‘Gracie’ is about how, even in our modern, sometimes brutal world, faith and love still triumph over fear and violence… in the strangest of ways.

Made for a micro budget, but shot on super16mm, ’Gracie’, written and directed by Jane, is her feature length debut.

Gracie was made with the help of many talented first timers, experienced well wishers, and with the help of a handful of post houses, without whose help and faith it never would have got this far. Gracie is a testament to those who dream, and reach for the stars, but who here on earth stayed the course!

Gracie’ is currently in the later stages of post and, and the project’s trailer can be viewed below.  Or please contact Jane at , janecreates@23-films.com for further info.
