23 Films and Jane Alexandra Foster.

When I wrote and directed my first short film, ‘The Beginning of Light’, it sparked a passion for film that led to me setting up 23 Films to develop, write, direct and produce my own projects,  as well as to work with other Film makers and Actors.

I have a small slate of feature films and scripts in development that I am either writing, directing or producing. I also teach formally, on a freelance basis, and I love to workshop projects with actors, something I also do when working with other writers. My attitude towards film making is, whatever it takes! I think that all projects require an individual tailoring to succeed, and I believe this maverick approach is the best for really getting to the heart of any creative project. I love working with character, and I aim for films of creative originality, but wide universal interest. The projects on this website are from micro to very high budget wise and are aimed at a world market. I work with and mainly write thrillers, especially Science Fiction, Urban Fantasy, Neo Noir and Retro Noir settings and stories. I love to work with big spiritual, psycholgical and social themes  My creative aims as a film maker and story teller for success are simple: Twist the expected, push commercial boundaries and aim high.

In what is a fast changing industry, I also believe in new avenues of distribution and film making, as well as traditional approaches.  I love cross platform stories and transmedia writing. I believe that the way forwards to creative and commercial success in the UK, lies in a widening of our pereceptions of delivery and subject matter, using technology to facillitate both. It is this approach that I believe will lead to success here, and on an international stage… As well as a belief that, anything is possible!
